Fascinated by strong contrasts, Miguel Rio Branco portrays life in Latin America, and his own country, Brazil; the countryside, the bars, the streets and brothels.

He combines photography with projections,newspaper cuttings, mirrors, objects, film, sculptural elements and music. But the main focus in his pictures is always on the intense colours, revealing his background as a painter.
